    Resolved [RESOLVED] Blocked Senders List

Is there anyway to alphabatize the Blocked Senders List in Outlook Express? If you inadvertently block someone it is very time consuming to find that email address to unblock if one has thousands of blocked addresses.

TFSP--I do not think that block list can be alphabetized. The list is in the Registry at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\Identity Number\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express\5.0\Block Senders\Mail\Criteria\000
But I do not see how to alphabetize.
There is a program called MailWasher. http://www.mailwasher.net
    Its Blacklist allows alphabetizing.
Are you sure you need thousands of blocked addresses? If these are spammers they usually change their address daily, so having them on a blocked list really is not accomplishing much.

Thanks for your input, Jim! Maybe my best alternative for blocking spam is as you suggested--Mailwasher.

And / or take advantage of any spam filtering available if you check it on line first. Comcast and AT&T do and I am sure other isp do too.

Report it a tme or two and they take of all that mess for you.

I have tried MailWasherFree for the last several weeks as you recommended. And after I figured it out find it very very helpful and would recommend it to everyone. But I have always wondered why the instuctions for most of these programs are so vague and very very difficult to understand. Maybe I am just stupid?? LOL!

My wife did not like MW at first until I typed out a straightforward list of steps on how to utilize it. Now she loves it!

I've been a MW Pro user for many years and used the free version before that. Great program. Not sure about the free version, but in the Pro version, you need to empty the recycle bin once in a while and you should clean out the block list periodically or the program might start misbehaving. This happened to me, and to others. Completely agree that keeping blocked addresses for any length of time is not useful at all. My ISP, without notification, decided to put in an automatic spam filter (Iron port 1050M). There is no opt out, and daily I get an email listing the hundreds of spam emails. Just hope your ISP doesn't do the same, because using Mailwasher is so much faster than deleting from a web page. Now I am forced to visit the web page to select the spam messages I want to report, mainly phishing emails, but some others as well. I am just hoping that my ISP doesn't deide that they need an earthlink-type permission system with no opt out.
