Sharing printer
XP computer has a printer hooked up to it, it's shared out.
On the vista machine, I add the printer with the vista driver, create a new local port \\computer\printer. I can print to the printer, I reboot the vista machine and the printer is offline, when I go into ports the \\computer\printer port is not listed and when I try to add the port it says that it already exists. I go into the registry and remove the port, reboot I can add the port again, it is listed in ports I can print. If I reboot the same thing happens, printer again goes offline and will not list the port and will not go online if I try to make it go onilne.

And the make and model of the printer is?
Have you checked for updated drivers?

Well it is an epson stylus c62, it's not driver related though because I created a completely new printer, created a completely brand new fake port and when I rebooted the same thing had happened, the port disappeared and the printer went offline.

Is Printer spooler started automatically in services.msc?
Should you have used Black Vipers hints, you may have turned something else off the printer needs.
Epson does not have a driver for Vista and just maybe leading you to get a replacement printer.
