Thought I would wait a couple weeks and see if anyone posts problems with it myself.
I would rather be safe than sorry.

At this point, Firefox 3 is in the form of Release Candidate 2. While this is a couple of steps beyond the beta stage, it is still not a final release.
It's my understanding that unless you take specific precautions to avoid problems, Firefox 2 and Firefox 3 do not co-exist well on the same PC. There are several differences in how they run and store settings/data.
With the knowledge that many FF2 Add-ons do not yet work with FF3, and the fact that it still may undergo some changes, I would think most users should not run FF3 yet.
As for whether it's faster, many testers have indeed said so. Once the final version is released, we'll have a better answer...

Han is totally right.
Final will be released this month.

I've been testing FF3 on XP since early beta releases, and it's a solid browser.

I had some problems with it on my Linux machine. I finally dropped back to version 2. It was still in beta then, I hope they iron out the bugs before the final release.

I forgot but there is a way to give FF3 a safe test drive. You can run the portable version available from PortableApps http://portableapps.com/news/2008-06...ortable_3_rc_2
If one wants to be sure their current installed FF2 stays as is, you should probably run portable FF3 from a USB flash drive (and make sure that FF2 is NOT running at the same time.) Again, remember that most Add-ons are not FF3 ready!

Here is another way: http://blog.codefront.net/2007/08/20...the-same-time/, but....I'd wait couple more weeks, when final version comes up.
