[Pro] Problem with Adobe 8.1.1

I am unable to remove or update my Adobe 8.1.1. When I try to update or remove or do anything with this program it tells me that there is something wrong with the installation and can not continue. Can not print documents etc... How do I fix this problem... I apologize if I posted this in the wrong forum confused:

Reinstall it right over the top of itself.

Then you should be able to uninstall it.

It will not let me reinstall the program, it tells me that me something about patch problem?

You need to use the Microsoft Windows Installer Cleanup Utility
and then run Add / Remove to take Adobe 8.1 out .. afterwards
download the latest version 8.1.2 and all should be fine.

After download completes--Open "Programs" on your computer and look for "WINDOWS INSTALL CLEANUP"--Click to open
When box opens look for 8.1.1 (or) Adobe 8.1.1 and "click" (HIGHLIGHT)WARNING--DO NOT HIGHLIGHT ANY OTHER PROGRAM!!!!
At bottom of box Click "REMOVE"

You can now do the removal thru Add / Remove

bonjovan--I understand you are talking about Adobe Reader, not Acrobat, nor Adobe Flash.
The latest version of Reader is 8.1.2 . You get it here.

If this does not help, what are the exact words of the "patch problem" message you mention?

Glad to be of help. That other link to the removal method
by Adobe, while it probably would work, looked mighty
complicated to me. The windows installer cleanup utility
by Microsoft (one program they actually have that works properly)
is designed to remove any remnants left over after an installer
program has done its work.

I'd also suggest Foxit Reader to replace Adobe. I'd also suggest going to Secuia Software Inspector which will tell you what programs on your computer are security risks and help you to update these programs.

It offers more features than Foxit Reader and if you get the Pro version (which is pretty cheap $14.95 US), you can perform basic editing on most PDFs (re-order pages, merge pages, extract pages, etc.)
