hotkeys for Windows live messenger?

anyone know a way to assign any messenger functions to a hotkey? There is no way in the program options themselves, I thought perhaps someone knew a way to do so via a shell command or some similar approach.

Thanks Steve, but I'm actually looking for a way to assign muting the microphone in a voice chat to the plus key in the number keypad.
