parent suffixes in dns

hi guys,

lets imagine that i go crazy and install pc2 at the domain joke.bucks.fizz.kano.llamafarmer.com and i elect to append parent dns suffixes in the tcp/ip advanced properties. if i type a non fqdn host name into ie for example, will dns search the current subdomain and the one above only? or does it also search each higher level subdomain in turn until it reaches llamafarmer.com?
