Belarc Advisor odd results
Hello people,
Do any of you know what would cause a discrepancy in the ram values on a belarc advisor report?
the report states;
Memory Modules = 448MB installed memory
slot 'A0' has 1024MB
slot 'A1' is empty.
on system properties windows acknowledges only 448MB ram too.
the machine was sold as 512MB ram and has not been upgraded
any ideas?

Strange one that - are you using the latest version of Belarc?
512MB minus 448MB = 64MB, so I assume that you have on-board video which is using the 64MB.

Nothing unusual about the a program misreading ram or the like.
slot 'A0' has 1024MB
Now for the the machine was sold as 512MB ram being read as only 448MB ram
The difference tells me you have onboard video and the difference is allocated and used by the video card.
Why so many of us do not like onboard video.
I would add another stick 512 stick, then up the ram for the video to 128 in the bios. Should speed things up a bit.

My apologies for any misunderstandings here. I do understand the difference of the 448 and 512 MB ram. It's just that I have used belarc advisor for years and yes updated versions but have never come across a discrepancy like this one. Train mentioned that there is nothing unusual for this so I am fine with it.
Thank you for your prompt replies

Your Welcome. Run into that unusual bit myself when they left a bit of information when they put Belarc together myself a few time over the years.
