Windows Media Player 7.1???
Was wondering if anyone has given this a try yet? It's still a large D/Load, but they say a lot of bugs have been fixed and has a new encoder that can be D/L'ed with it.

Hey Snarfll. I installed it a few days ago.
So far, at least with Windows 2000 Pro, it's been performing like it should: smooth and quick, with lots of nice features. It's a keeper in my opinion.

Works great with W98.I like to watch NASA TV on it and the transmission seems to come in better with the 7.1 upgrade.

I ll try it some day .I hated WMP7 hope 7.1 will better . Another thing I don't like about it , when you install it WMP will give you a link in every folder of your favorites .

Thanks guys, i've got it dowloaded now. Brought the encoder and the 4.1 service pack with it.
Do you know if i'll have to uninstall my good ol' MP6.4? Or will it assimilate it? Have 6.4 on backup, but don't want to uninstall it if not necessary. Couldn't find anything about it in the "read me" on the site..
Thanx

Make sure you have a setup.exe for 6 in case you would want to go back . It will upgrade ,probably , or try to install in different directory new WMP

Homer, yeah, i have it backed up on Cd so no prob doing a re-install.
Seein' as how it's a M$ product, i don't know if it gives an option of where to put it during installation. If it does i'll designate a different folder and see what happens.
Maybe someone will come along that "has" installed it over 6.4 and will let me know..
Thanks again,,
