[RESOLVED] Audio problems
I am getting an error: AC97 Audio Driver, C Media Can not start( Code 10) and no sound at all. Tried deleting and reloading all audio drivers, no luck. I can play music DVD's fine, but the Control Panel Audio Device is grayed out and no Audio Device or speaker controls are available. Getting no sound at all on the Internet Videos and the Volume control is unavailable. Any help would be appreciated.

Is this an onboard soundcard? If it is you need to load the driver from the manufacturer's website for it.
You can try using Everest to identify the motherboard and the soundcard

Then go to the manufacturer`s site and look for a driver

If it ain't broke, leave it alone.

Get your WinXP CD handy, then go to Start>Run and type "sfc /scannow" without the quotes (you don't get any report from the System File Checker, it just silently replaces and corrupt or missing system files that it finds).
