[RESOLVED] Adobe Flash Player Update
I have Adobe Flash Player 9 version 9.0.47.0 installed on my laptop. I recently used Secunia Software Inspector (http://secunia.com/software_inspector/) to check the operating system and software for insecure versions and missing security updates.
The scan shows that I also have Macromedia Flash Player 6 version 6.0.84.0 installed also. Secunia Software Inspector suggests that this is insecure and that I should update to version 6.0.88.0 or 9.0.28.0.
I’m really confused by all this. Can some kind person please answer my questions?
1) Do I need Macromedia Flash Player 6 if I have Adobe Flash Player 9?
2) If I don’t need the Macromedia player how do I uninstall it? I can’t find it in my Add/Remove Programmes.
3) If I need it and should update to 6.0.88.0 or 9.0.28.0 where do I get the update from? When I follow the link from Secunia to Adobe I get the download page for the Adobe Flash Player 9 version 9.0.47.0.
I’m confused!! Can someone please put me straight?
Thanks
Mike

Thanks this fixes the problem. It's good to be able to ask the experts even on issues that confuse the dummies.

Macromedia was taken over by Adobe and something from macro was probably left on your computer after an Adobe update.
