    [Home] Silly CD question?

You know how when a person plays a CD in Windows Media Player that it will show a small picture of the album cover under the now playing list? And how sometimes it won't? Well, I can see why it won't display that picture of the album cover if it is not displayed when you click "Show Album Info". But if when you click "Show album info" and the picture is there why won't it display under the now playing list? I also went under "Find Album Info" where one is supposed to search for the album cover. The artist in question had 11 albums listed so it's not like this is a virtual unknown. And like I said, the album cover was shown im "Show Album Info".

I said this was a silly question, but it's one of those little things that drive a person crazy. So to recap. When the album cover picture won't display under now playing list even though it's shown on the "Show Album Info" why is this -- and can a person do something to make it show up under the now playing list?

If you look in the actual album folder in My Music, do you see any "Album art" files there?

    Silly CD Question

Either I'm not understanding your answer or you're not understanding my question.

I'm talking about in the Windows Media Display window where it shows the titles of the tracks being played on the CD by the artist who did the CD. Below where it shows the track titles, it shows a small picture of the CD album cover. Some CDs don't show that picture because the media player claims it isn't in their online library. The CD in question showed an album cover when I went online to check for it in Napster, which is where the Media Player gets the picture of the album from. It wouldn't show the album cover under the now playing list claiming the picture wasn't available even though it was right there in Napster under Album Info.

Are you saying that the album cover picture would be in My Music when the CD is playing in the Windows Media player? Or are you saying that I can somehow copy the picture into MY Music and somehow transfer it from there to the Windows Media Player?

what makes you think that the player gets the pictures from napster? If you have an audio cd, it will (or might in your case) contain album art files. they are probably hidden. in windows explorer go to tools=>folder options=>view=>show hidden files and folders and check your cd

    Silly CD Question

What makes me think the player gets the picture from Napster is the fact that when I click on the blank space where the album picture should be it goes to Napster and shows it there on their page. Then, if it is going to work right when I click on "Now Playing" In the Windows Media player the picture will show up. But if it is going to tell me it can't find it -despite me being able to see it on their page -- then it won't show up.

I went to Internet Explorer. Under TOOLs there is no FOLDER OPTIONS listed on my computer. All I have is Internet Options and that doesn't list view and show hidden folders.

No, not Internet Explorer, Windows Explorer.

To load Windows Explorer, while holding down the key with the Windows logo on it, press the [E] key. (In other words, press [WinKey-E]).

The key with the Windows logo on it is usually located to the left of the [SpaceBar] between the [Ctrl] and [Alt] keys.

    Silly CD Question

OK. I went into Windows Explorer. There I found that I already had "show hidden files and folders checked". I'm not sure what you mean when you say Check the CD after going in there. I put it in Windows Media player and ti still wouldnt show the small picture of the album cover.

Is there some way to check the CD while in Windows Explorer?
