[XP] Missing Help and Support files
I have lost the ability to access my Help and Support files
Heard at a local auto-repair shop:
"I couldn't repair your brakes,
so I made your horn louder."

Did you run a Registry cleaner (or something similar) recently? Probably one of the simplest ways to restore those files is to boot up with the XP CD and do a Windows repair.

Try this:
Go to Start>Run and type "regsvr32 HHCTRL.OCX" without the quotes.

I tried to boot to the XP CD but I did not see any repair option... How do I get the repair option...

Try Supersparks suggestion above. But should it not work for you, try booting from the XP CD:
1. When the "Press any key to boot from CD" message is displayed on your screen, press a key to start your computer from the Windows XP CD.
2. Press ENTER when you see the message "To setup Windows XP now", and then press ENTER displayed on the Welcome to Setup screen.
3. Do not choose the option to press R to use the Recovery Console.
4. In the Windows XP Licensing Agreement, press F8 to agree to the license agreement.
5. Make sure that your current installation of Windows XP is selected in the box, and then press R to repair Windows XP.
6. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete Setup.

The Help and Support Center does not run when the Data Execution Protection feature is turned on in Windows XP Service Pack 2
