I have a virus MSVCPK.EXE

My Earthlink virus scan said I had a virus. MSVCPK.EXE AND TRACERTS.EXE.
When I delete it and run the virus scan, it shows up again.
I found it at c\windows\system 32\msvcpk.exe, and tracerts.exe, but it will not delete it. Access denied.

First thing I'd try is to run the virus scan in safe mode (tap the F8 key while booting to get into safe mode) If that doesn't help Have a look through this thread...

and do all of the things it suggests then copy the Hijackthis log into this thread and then we'll move it to the Hijack forum where one of our experts can have a look at it and advise further.

Pls make sure that hijackthis is installed into it's own permanent folder.. eg- C:/program files/hijackthis
