[RESOLVED] Why do my Wireless properties come and go, see pics
Guys,
This is frustrating and I end up doing a restore to a previous day(s) until it's back. It usually happens when I'm at another site other than my home where I loose the wireless when I do a right mouse click on wireless network connection. Is there a way to bring this back when I loose it?
Here are pics when I have it and when I don't.

Hello COPO,
The only thing I see different is the Wireless Networks tab is missing. So, without further details it would be hard to diagnose. The tab will likely disappear if either of the following:
1) The wireless adapter is disabled.
2) A third party utility is managing the connection. It will disable the WZC service.

Is there a way to get the tab back? It works sometimes and other times it's missing. When I need to add a SSID name I can't since the tab is missing. For example this am I had wireless and was on the Net then I Hibernated and 4 hrs later I couldn't get on the Net. The bottom right wireless icon said it was unavailable or unlimited connectivity. Would using the Hibernate key on my laptop have anything to do with this. Maybe I'll try and do a shutdown each time I'm finished using the laptop so I get the IP refreshed/recycled.

Click Start, Run, type services.msc, then click Ok. Scroll down until you see Wireless Zero Configuration service and start it, also set it to automatic. That should bring the tab back.

It's already st to automatic. If it hangs up again I'll check with services.msc
Thx for the tip Eric.

I am still experiencing the problem. I'm at another persons house and was working fine for 2 days then shutdown my computer and just powered it back up and now it can't find any wireless networks in range. There is one in range because I'm sending this reply on another laptop. What gives with my P.O.Crap Dell?
