[XP] upgrade video card for A7A133 board?

Well, you know how it goes...a little upgrade here...a little there...

This board has the Nvidia Riva TNT2 Model 64 Pro (32Mb.). My daughter will be using this rig for real basic surfing, e-mailing...downloading lots of pixes of Brooke..my first grandchild... Would going to either a 64Mb or a 128Mb card make a significant difference? Both sizes are around $30.00-$35.00, so they are cheap enough. But...if there would not be a real difference in graphics & in doing some basic photo correction stuff, then there is no real need to get anything else.

My preference would be going for the 128mb one. Although, for what she's using it for, she probably won't see much difference between the 64mb or the 128mb, if she ever decided to play games then she'd see a difference. Photos are 2D not 3D so it's not a real big difference in how they show up on the computer. System Ram matters more than a higher video card ram would in photo editing.

photolady...there is (are?) 768 Mb's of PC133 ram so that should be plenty, shouldn't it? Thanks for that info...ram for photo work....video ram for games...I'll try and remember that.

I'll probably just hold off on another card....it can always be added later.

Yeah, 768 of ram would be enough for what she's doing. And that 32mb video card would also work for now. I was thinking games, I meant something like Sims/Sims2, not those high end games. I ran a system about 8 years ago on a 16mb video card, doing photos then too. And after upgrading to a 32mb card, I really couldn't tell any real difference. As long as the card is able to do 32-bit, it should be okay with doing just photos.
