3gp converting program to mpg or avi file

Does anybody know of a free program to convert mobile phone videos in 3gp format to one that WMP can play without a watermark on the video?

    Thanks!

Have a look through this Nokia forum. There are a couple of methods of converting them that I can see there.

Are you wanting to just play them back on a computer or encode them to a higher resolution and different format?

    VLC will play them: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

I wanted to post these on Youtube and be able to share them as files on windows media player. Will this program convert the 3gp files and allow me to share the video?

VLC will only allow you to view them. You'd need to convert them as you originally asked to be able to get them onto utube.

these guys offer a free limited version that will convert it for you (no watermarks)...
    http://www.imtoo.com/3gp-video-converter.html
it limits you to a maximum of 5mins per clip... but you can always just convert numerous indivdual 5min clips then combine them in to one long clip using Windows Movie Maker or similar.
Failing that.. get yourself something like Pinnacle thats what i use.

Thanks. I have tried imtoo, and the video appears good on WMP. However, when I upload the same exact video on youtube, the video plays upside down on their site. I have done this multiple times and it is still the same (with different videos). I don't know why but I still need help!

Does it play upside down for everyone or just you?

It did for everyone also. Weird thing, I uploaded the same file yesterday after the post and it works fine now. Maybe a youtube problem then?

Maybe but I can't think of what youtube would do with a clip to turn it upside down. That's occasionally a symptom of an improperly installed or missing codec on the viewers PC (which is why I asked if it was just you that had the problem) but it wouldn't or couldn't be a codec issue with youtube because they just serve the clip regardless of what codecs are needed to watch.
