    Didn't read far enough.
    Just one example.

Automatically backup files, directories, even entire drives! Karen's Replicator copies selected files from one drive/folder to another. Source and Destination folders can reside anywhere on your network.

Try this link: http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=155773 for a freebie. I have never used it and know nothing about it but it is free.
EDIT: Just thought of this one. Got a c/p about it for you but you will have to Google for it:
    Cobian Backup
    backup tool
    Our Rating: (Excellent)

Cobian Backup is a small and simple utility to backup files and directories from some place in your computer to another place in the same computer or to a shared drive in another machine. You can set the program to automatically make a backup within regular intervals of time, for example daily, weekly etc. Cobian Backup offers additional support for PKzip compressions and can be run as a service under NT/2000/XP.

hfctrl--While not the greatest WinXP has a backup utility (NT Backup) on its install disc, though it is not installed by default in Windows XP Home.

Go about 80% of the way down and read the section "Backup Utilities on Windows XP".
