    Looking for a decent media player

    that will play DVD's. Friends WMP (don't know the version) keeps shutting down on them with the "it has experienced a problem and will shut down" message. They are running XP.

    I have never used the free AVS DVD player but true DVD playing software often does a better job (ie. image quality) than the typical media players (including WMP.) It might be the ticket for your friend...

    I use PowerDVD and with the proper codecs ,DVD's play just fine...
    Stupid question? No such thing!
