google video

after weeks of trying I finally figured
out how to save the you tube videos
I also downloaded the player
however I was disappointed

the saved you tube files play in a tiny 3 by 4
box even smaller than when played on line
I decided its a waste of time and now if I see
anything on u tube I just tag is as a favourite.

I decided to give google video a try.
things were a lot more straight forward
its easy to download a vid and then I downloaded
the google vid player
the vids play in a good size box
and you can even go full screen.
the quality seems good too I thought u tube
was crap by comparison

However........... after this encounter with google video
I noticed that every time I opened a browser
I d hear a peep
and a notice would appear at the bottom of the browser
................
To help protect your security int explorer has restricted this file from showing active content that could access your computor.

so ( i may be wrong ) but it looks like google have tried to bundle in some active x stuff prob when I downloaded the software to send vids to google or when I downloaded the player
sneaky huh !

and in the past 2 or 3 days since ..... everything seems a lot slower, my yahoo e mail pages seem slow to change etc

I did a virus scan in safe mode, nothing detected
I did and ad aware scan too

Things seem a bit better today fingers crossed

From a web developer's standpoint it's impossible to avoid that little 'active content' warning. Any javascript at all will set it off. I understand why it's there but it would be nice if it didn't set off an important-sounding alarm when I'm trying to use something as simple as a javascript date/time program. Basically I wouldn't worry about the warning.
