    Stop scanning outgoing mail

I have Norton. In there I have tried to get it to stop scanning outgoing mail. I have unclicked the box that says to scan outgoing mail. There is also a box to click for the duration. ie: 15 minutes, an hour and on up to permanently disable. I have repeatedly clicked disable permanently, but it won't stay.

What good is this setting if it won't work? And is there anyway I can make it stay on permanently? The reason why I ask is because it checks email I know is safe and then tells me it can't be sent unless I retry. Obviously, this is aggravating and an unnecessary expenditure of time.
    Please help?

    Stop Scanning Outgoing Mail

I joined the TEK-TIPS link you posted here. I put down my email address so they could contact me, but no one has.

I am concerned that I didn't do something right because they asked me to put myself into a catergory and the closest I could come to anything they had listed was technical advisor. And I am not a technical advisor. Maybe that's why they didn't answer.

If anyone is seeing this, please tell me what I should do now.
