need outlok express help
Hello all
a friend of mine is having trouble with her Outlook Express version 6. She is running XP Pro. The problem, as described to me on the phone is this. A while ago she got an email and clicking on it freezes the computer. Same thing happens in safe mode. She wouldn't even mind deleting the program and starting fresh but doesn't have the disc anymore. any ideas how to delete this? thanks
Brent
(if you have any questions please ask and I shall try and find out. Computer in question is 3000 miles away)

If it only freezes when trying to open that email, then I would just delete the email.
If there is more too it than that - come back for more.

Sorry Nix, I was going to add, but then forgot to, that the freezing takes place when she goes to that email to try and delete it. even in safe more.

unfortunately that didn't work either. still freezes. she says there have been other strange ones the last few months. all the others she has been able to send to a special folder then delete but not this sertain one. Can't go to the one above or below and delete the set either. very strange.

Is this email in the inbox ?
If so do the following:
Close OE
Search for inbox.dbx
Rename it to inbox.old
Start OE - a new inbox is created with an email about OE
If the old email in the Inbox is required:
Right click on inbox and select New Folder
Call it oldinbox and click OK
Close OE
Search for inbox.old
Rename it to oldinbox.dbx
Start OE, drag any emails that don't freeze from oldinbox to inbox.
Delete oldinbox with dodgy email that causes freezing.
Right cliclk on Deleted Items and select Empty
