    wininet and windows media player

    Hi

my windows media player has a bit ptoblem lately streaming media types online, in fact, it doesn't...not in webpage and not if i paste url into windows media player. the problem seems to be wininet.dll as it sometimes shows the "windows explorer has encountered a problem and needs to be closed..."
but most of the time, the player or the browser just close by themselves without playing anything

I think it might have something to do with the last windows update, but I have so many windows update in my add/remove lists and I don't know which one it is

i've tried uninstalling player 10, but player 9 doesn't work as well

the microsoft website gives a fix or some sort but it doesn't work

    can anyone help me? thanks

You could try a system restore to a point in time just before the problem started. Also, besides rolling back have you tried to reinstall WMP over top of itself?

i could do a system restore, but the problem persists for a long time now that i don't remember when did it started..

what do you mean by reinstalling on top of itself?

I've tried unisntalling and reinstalling, when i uninstall, it only roll back to media player 9 but would not uninstall the whole program
