The recorder is busy. Please try again later.

My CD burner is stuck with information that did not completly burn. A message comes up saying "The recorder is busy. Please try again later." Everytime I put a blank disk in it keeps showing the information that was supposed to be burnt and no matter what I do that message keeps coming up. I have removed all disks and rebooted but whenever I put another disk in the same message comes up. I am using Roxio burning software.

I believe your problem stems from not having your cd burner set as the primary burning tool in Roxio. With Nero I can chose which drive to use to burn to. I am not sure but it would seem that Roxio would have this option also. Look for a menu heading that allows you to "choose Recorder", then chose your drive.

No, I believe the info is stuck in cache somewhere and I can't seem to delete it. It keeps on trying to burn but can't because there was an error while burning. How can I stop it from trying to burn? I am going to try and delete everything in the temp folder and see if that helps. Any other suggestions?

Sometimes issues like this are resolved with a firmware update. Check the burner's manufacturer web site to see if a firmware update is available.

What do you think about uninstalling the drive in Device Manager and then rebooting to reinstall?

    Thumbs up

Thanks for all the help everyone! Problem resolved. The cd tray was not closing all the way. Sometimes you just don't see the obvious.

    Thanks again!
