[RESOLVED] Windows won't open maximized
I had a new CD/DVD rom player installed in my computer today. Prior to that any web page I went to would open maximized.
Now When I go to IE main page first and then click on my favorites from there the web pages will open maximized. But if I go to my favorites list from my menu bar on my desktop bypassing IE then the pages won't open maximized.
The tech person at my ISP told me that if I opened a window maximized and closed it maximized that it would open again maximized the next time I opened it. But this doesn't work. Now, everytime I try to open a window that I closed maximized it opens in the middle setting between maximized and minimized. I am worried about this because my old computer did the same thing when I made an upgrade to it.
How can I get a window to open maximized when I close it maximized?
I went to Windows Help and tried to find a catergory that would explain how to do this, but I couldn't find any listing that seemed obvious and I don't know where else to look.
Please help?

The usual way I deal with this is:- Open one window (call it A) and maximize it.
- Open another window (B) and maximize it.
- Close A.
- Close B.
Can't explain it, but it seems to work for me.

Hello Dr Seven
Try this and see if it works for you.
The instructions are to be used with the way of opening favourites which needs fixed.
Open up one of your favourites. Resize the page using the mouse. (Drag it to the correct size using the double headed arrows at the bottom right corner and move it till it fills the screen).
Keep this window open and open another favourites page.
Resize it in the same way with the mouse.
Then hold down CTRL and close the first window using the "X" at the top right.
Close the second window in the same way.
The pages should open maximised now.
Elaine
If it ain't broke, leave it alone.

RE: Windows won't open maximized
Thanks to those of you who tried to help. I tried the things you've suggested already. They didn't work for me. However, I discovered a neat little thing called System Restore. I used that and it worked fine. Now Windows wil open maximized.
Somewhere on the front page of this website it says to mark the problem solved if it is. I can find no place where a person can check a box that says that. I'm probably blind or looking right at it. Anyway, if someone knows how to mark this as fixed, please do so.
