Computer resets when i try to boot it

Whenever i turn on my computer, it loads up until the point where i would expect the desktop to appear, but resets itself. i hve scanned using adaware, ewido and spybot, and am currently doing teh trend micro online scan, but it still happens. Here is the HJT log:

Not seeing any reason for it in your log. Have you tried a system restore at all?
Will transfer you over to the XP forum where you will receive assistance suited to your problem .

Do you mean that after logging on, the User is automatically logged off again?
If that is the case, try this fix

Boot up with your XP installation CD and let setup run.
Select the first “R” you come to to enter the Recovery Console
You should be in C:\windows
Now follow from here:

C:\windows
type
cd system32
(If that does not work, try CHDIR SYSTEM32)
ENTER

the directory should now be
C:\windows\system32
type
copy userinit.exe wsaupdater.exe
ENTER

1 file should be copied,
REBOOT

Login might hang for a while.

Once in windows run Regedit and go to the key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

Look in the right pane for the Userinit value/subkey.
Double click the Userinit subkey and change it's value to

C:\Windows\System32\userinit.exe,

Make sure you have the comma at the end.
Exit Regedit.

Look if you have “wsaupdater.exe” here
C:\Windows\System32\wsaupdater.exe

Delete the WSAUPDATER.EXE file.

no, the computer resets at the point before the login screen, i.e. at the windows logo with the blue loading bar below it. i can access the comp in safe mode, just not in normal mode. i heard that a bad line in the autoexec.bat file can cause this. i have tried a system restore, but to no avail. whats wrong? thanks for your help guys

If System Restore didn't fix it, then I think you'll need to do a repair install of XP.

A repair won't lose any data, other than Service Pack (if not on CD), any Windows Updates and unsigned drivers, which will need to be re-installed afterwards.
Stay offline to do a repair and do not go online again without a firewall enabled. After repairing XP, install Service Pack (if necessary), firewall and then you must install all Critical Updates next.

How to Repair XP
Boot up with the XP CD in the drive and let Setup run. Go past the first "R" repair option by pressing Enter just as if you're doing a clean install and you'll eventually come to an option to "Repair an existing installation". Select this one.

Before you do that, see if you can boot into Safe Mode (press F8 during the boot process). If you can, go to Control Panel>System>Advanced>Startup & Recovery>Settings and uncheck "Automatically restart". The next time it happens you'll get a Stop error, which is much easier to troubleshoot.
