Actually I'd just got back from a "Souper Bowl" Sunday of preparing food and serving the less fortunate people at the Shepherds of Good Hope soup kitchen in Ottawa. Had a couple of beer, some supper and sat on the couch to watch the game, and did exactly what I usually do when I watch NFL or CFL, fell asleep on the couch and woke up after it was all over.
I hear they censored Start Me Up and Rough Justice, too risqué for the American audience

I stayed awake for most of it (Televised 'till 3:30 am) and i was disappointed as an impartial watcher.....the first call was no way a touchdown, but you couldn't see if the ball had reached the line so they gave that....and i missed the second half due to resting my eyes for a little longer than planned.

Should of took Poppy's advice and had a nap early on.

Do you prefer Cricket Crunch? Only about 5 months until it comes to your backyard.

Poppy4: The disputed TD was clearly a TD as shown with replay....
Someone else is blind also. The ball never broke the barrier. But, who cares?
I was switching off between the poor game and a pool tournament.
The pool tournament had much more action.

....and my eye doc has been wanting me to come in for an exam....but....it sure looked to me from one of the replays that it was a TD....can't disagree with the slowness of play...but it was better than a blowout game.....anyway have heart folks....less than two weeks for Spring Training.... yeah....BaseBall...

Referee review: All replay reviews will be conducted by the referee on a field-level monitor after consultation with the other covering officials on the play. A decision will be reversed only when the referee has indisputable visual evidence that the call should be changed. The referee cannot initiate a replay in any instance.
Now keep in mind this phrase "indisputable visual evidence" to change the call. In this case...the call on the field was TD. So....there has to be that indisputable visual evidence that it wasn't before the ref could overturn the play. He isn't allowed to look at the reply and "think" it should be something like what happened against the Steelers in the Indy game. He MUST see the evidence or the play stands. That's why this call is different from the Indy game call which the NFL apologized for, BTW.

This is the best pic I can find:

Here is Ben completely airborne and moving forward. How do we know he is moving forward? Well...here is a shot just a split second earlier:

Now...going back to the first pic....how can we determine where he is in relationship to the goal line? Look at Jerome Bettis's hands and shoulders....they are just inches away from the plane of the goal line. Now look at Ben's elbow....it is PAST bettis's shoulder and not even in contact with it. They ball is beneath his elbow...but not completely. It protrude at the top as Ben prepares to stretch it forward. In any case....it is PAST bettis's shoulder which we have already determined is only inches off the line...and Ben is still going forward. Is this ball across the plane at the time of this photo? maybe....but I stress again...he is still moving forward. If it hasn't broken the plane yet....it soon will...it must or we rewrite the physics books.

A split second later the Seahawk on the ground impacts Ben and pushes him back. BUT...the rule book says all he has to do is break the plane...not land inside the endzone.

So...in closing....not only do I not believe the replay is sufficient to overturn the play (no indisputable visual evidence to overturn a called play)...I feel it confirms the TD. The refs followed the rules this time....and THAT is why the Indy call does not compare to this one. Had this been called a no-TD on the field and the Steelers challenged...I also believe the replay does not provide that clear level of evidence to overturn. It would have had to stay....that's the rules.

Well.....that's how I see it anyway. A close call to be sure...but "rigged" or "Fixed" or "bad"? Just because the refs did their job? I don't think so....

    Hope this helps.....

One dayers or twenty/20 games are great . It's here and it's now. Aussies are playing 1 dayers between Sri Lanks and South Africa. Finals at the end of the week. Sri Lanka and SA are playing each other to decide which one plays in the finals.

Was there some football game included in the 10 minute Stones concert?

Poor Mick's voice is shot (my opinion), butt I'd have to compliment Mick on his moves though at 61 years young.

And I can't help but wonder what Keith Richards uses these days to motivate himself.

Possibly more 100% blood transfusions, now that I hear he's recovered.
