Screen resolution in Registry?
One of our VPs laptop changes screen resolution any time a new Windows patch is installed. While I would prefer to educate her so she can change her screen resolution herself, she simply doesn't bother trying to learn and instead calls me each time to fix it.
If I can find where in the registry the screen resolution is configured, I could simply create an executable that changes it. This executable would then be placed on the VP's desktop, where she could double click on it and everything goes back to 'normal'.
Anyone know where the screen resolution is kept in the registry of Windows XP Pro?

I've seen programs that can do that from a systray icon as well.
But here's a freebie you might want to look at..

It's called "Setres" and can be run from command line or conveniently from a shortcut. You could make a couple (or more) shortcuts with the screenres/etc you'd need and then the user can double click to change back and forth.

I tried the SetRes.exe program, but it gave me an error message each time I tried it on my PC. Also tried a program called MultiRes, but its not much better than simply using the Graphics card icon located in the SysTray.
I did manage to find the registry key:
hkey_current_config\system\currentcontrolset\ control\video
Seems Defaultsettings.xresolution and defaultsettings.yresolution control the screen's resolution. But just changing the values doesn't adjust the display. If I remember correctly, a reboot would be required in order for changes to the Registry to tkae place.
