    dvd ripper

I bought one of those Ipod videos and i wanted to take my own DVDs... make them into a file then send them over to my ipod video. BUT i was wondering if anyone knew a dvd ripper that I can use. I have tried a couple but one said i cant because copy right law... others ones were terrible. Im looking for one that will rip the video and audio from the DVD and if i wanted to I could choose clips out of the movies that i wanted to rip. If anyone knows anything. Id be really grateful. Thanks in advance

Dude, write your Congressperson. The reason all those apps suck is because the DMCA makes it illegal to make anything that circumvents copyprotection in the US, to spite our fair use rights.
MaximumPC recommends No1DVD Ripper. I tried the demo and thought it was harder to use than a plunger without a handle. And, in theory, you could be violating the law just owning a copy.
I recommend supporting independent filmmakers that make their stuff available for free online, without DRM measures.

Sorry JR providing such information would be against forum rules which prohibit the circumventing of copyright protection
