    Angry Server Not Found messages

My son is trying to login to a gaming website in order to download the beta version of some game he pre-ordered. When on the screen that you enter your email id and password it always comes back with error msg "Server Cannot Be Found". There is also a selection on that screen to register and it gets the same message. If he clicks on "I Forgot my password" he gets a screen to have his password sent to his email and he gets a confirmation email OK.

Now what is really strange is a friend of my son can enter my son's email and password on that screen from his computer and it works OK. He has a different internet provider than we do.

We have DSL and 2 machines with a hub in front of the DSL modem. One machine runs Windows 2000K Pro and the other XP HE. Both get the same errors. I've looked at the firewall configuration on the modem and set it to the least restrictive but we still get the error. My son says the file he needs to download is 1.3 gig so I don't think we can load it to his friends machine and burn it to CD (he doesn't have a burner anyway).

Any suggestions what to look for? Here's a link to that page if that helps:

Sounds like maybe it's a cookies issue. Try adding fileplanet.com to the trusted sites in your IE settings.

If he really, really, really wants the file your friend could use you send it to forward it to him until the issue is resolved.

Turned out to be some type of web blocking I set up on my DSL several years ago when my son was visiting sites I didn't want. Once we removed that it worked OK.
    Thanks all
