    Resolved [RESOLVED] iTUNES--Can anyone help?

Wife has maybe 2+GB of songs on her Ipod that she downloaded from her computer. The computer went to computer hell and now she would like to download from her Ipod those same songs to a new computer. Can that be done and if so, how. (These songs are on the hard drive that I took from the now processed "hell bound" computer.) She has the iTunes software CD disk, if that is important to know. As always, TIA.

Unfortuanately, there are no easy ways ... another reason I haven't and won't buy an iPod (I have a Creative Zen Xtra.)

There are 3rd party softwares as suggested here: http://www.everymac.com/systems/appl...ivity_3.html#2

    Another suggestion: http://www.jakeludington.com/ask_jak...o_windows.html

A tutorial for a freware here: http://64.233.161.104/search?q=cache...computer&hl=en This cached link may not work but the freeware suggested is here: http://www.ephpod.com/

If the hard drive from the old PC is still around you could install it as a slave in the new computer and then just drag and drop all the MP3s to the new drive.

Nice links with great info falcon. I saved some of those that appear to be easier and will begin to look at them in more detail. I still have those songs on the old hard drive but I am trying to go the easy/lazy route and avoid c/p them to the new hard drive in the the new PC.
I could not decide if the songs that are now on her Ipod would be removed using either of the methods discussed in your links. She wants to keep those songs on her Ipod and because of this, I may have no choice except to c/p from the old hdd.

fink, thanks for your suggestion and as indicated in my reply to falcon, I am being lazy and besides, I can only assume I can do the drag and drop of the songs. That seems simple enough to do though(and this has been suggested to me already by a friend, now that I think of it ).

Done Done iTunes is back up and running!!! She's happy and I am more than happy that she is happy.
I put the old hard drive in the new box, slaved it to the installed hard drive and copied her songs over to a folder I opened on the desktop. Copied you say---well, I did that just to be sure her songs weren't lost after all that I have been through (and you ). I did not know that XP would do that and I soon found that there was nothing to the job; a real piece of cake Now I can delete that folder with the copied tunes in it and I'll be finished. Many many thanks to you folks---again.

EDIT: Forgot to say that I used her iTunes CD and installed version 4.7.1. of iTunes and Qtime 6.5.2. Almost immediately, a window popped open asking if I wanted to update. My quick quick answer was NO
