I have several Win 98SE PC's running IE 5 that need to be upgraded to IE 5.5 or IE 6. These PC's do not have internet access. Is there somewhere I can download the upgrades to install on multiple PC's? Thanks is advance for your help.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 download
note where it says:
To copy the download to your computer for installation at a later time, click Save or Save this program to disk.

Hi jmathews,
I'm not trying to be a smart-aleck---I'm just curious. If these computers have no internet access, what difference does it make which browser version they have or a browser at all??

NEM1S1S--Does "To copy the download to your computer for installation at a later time, click Save or Save this program to disk. " really mean what we think/hope it means? Will we be offered the opportunity to save the whole IE6 installation, or does it mean only that the setup file can be saved?
This question gets raised quite often and the solutions usually offered are somewhat more complicated. See, for example

The following method also works. It allows you to download the entire file based on the OS you plan to install it on.
You can download the setup files for internet explorer to your hard drive without having to immediately install it. This lets you save the files on your hard drive or cd or zip for later installation. In addition, you can also specify which operating systems you want to be able to install it on. here's how:
Go to the microsoft ie web site - http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.htm - and click on the version of ie you want to download. They currently offer ie 6 and ie 5.5 sp2 and ie 5.01 sp2. Follow the instructions to download the setup file. When prompted, save that setup file to disk into a folder of your choice.
Once the file is downloaded, go to start / run and type in the following command exactly as shown, including the quotes. Of course you'll need to replace the path to the setup file with the path where it's located on your machine:
For ie 5:
"e:\Downloads\MSIE\ie5setup.exe" /c:"ie5wzd.exe /d /s:""#E"
For ie 6:
"e:\Downloads\MSIE\ie6setup.exe" /c:"ie6wzd.exe /d /s:""#E"
This will result in a special download window where you can specify where to download the setup files to, as well as what OS's to download the setup files for.
Even though you'll end up with one folder and one set of setup files, you can then use the same setup files for any OS that you specified.
