Sudden loss of all sound
I was working in Sonar 8.5.3 when I lost all sound. I believe a Windows update was the cause but I haven't discovered what it did. I can see levels where I'd expect to see them, in fact, I just mixed a song down without hearing anything, moved the file to a different computer and it was complete and everything was present.
* The MOTU Mk5 iNTERFACE driver is 'working properly'
* Sound is not muted anywhere in the system
* Default playback device is Ultralite Mk5 Main Out 1 - 2
* Mike/Line/Inst in 1 - 2 is the default recording device
* Motu Driver Version 4.0.9.6648
* In the High Definition Audio Device Propertiesm I found this:
Device HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0892&SUBSYS_1462EB18&REV_1003\4&172377ab&0&0001 requires further installation.
* In the Base System Device Properties I found this:
Device PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1911&SUBSYS_7B181462&REV_00\3&11583659&0&40 requires further installation.
I don't know if the last two are even relevant but something isn't happy
On the front panel of the Mk5, the Mic and Main sections show level even though everthing is OFF and no Mic is connected.
This IS relevant and I'm not happy. Where do I start, reinstall the drivers?
Thanks - rev

That's what I would do. May also need to uninstall the latest Windows update(s) in case that was the cause of the problem.
VirtualDr email notices are not working.
Check back regularly for responses.
