[RESOLVED] What is the correct way to install from a .cab file?
It's a Dell .cab file containing drivers but I haven't found installation instructions that work. The error I get the most is 'file not found' so obviously, I don't know where it's supposed to be. Does anyone know all that? What's wrong with a zip or an exe?
Thanks - rev

To open a CAB file, you can:
Double-click on it if you are using Windows.
Use archive management software like Winzip, 7-Zip, or The Unarchiver if you are on macOS or Linux.
Right-click on the file and open it to view its contents using Windows Explorer.
Highlight all the files, right-click, and choose Extract.
Use built-in Windows command line tools like expand.exe, makecab, and extrac32.

The problem with that is once I have the files, I don't know which ones to install. The one I really want is the network driver but there are 6 or 7 of them in the .cab.

Go into Device Manager - Network Adaptors and install from there.... You can point the install to the folder where you extracted the files.

Thanks, I'll remember that. Before I got your reply, I decided to install them one by one and I got lucky, the first one worked.
Thanks!
