Radeon RX 6500 XT fans not turning.
I've read that this could be normal because the fans don't come on until the temp threshhold is exceeded - but how would I know for sure?
I've requested support from AMD, I even RTFM but couldn't find anything about it.
Thanks - rev

First thing I would do is check the temp

Does everything in the Fan Control look OK... aka the settings are "enabled."

The latter versions of AMD video software have a zero fan speed mode. These include the RX 6500 XT (I have RX 6700, RX 6800 XT and RX 6900 XT GPU's in PC's). Look around in the AMD control panel and you'll eventually find the settings to have total control over fan speeds including setting speed curves according to GPU temps. I'm not on one of my PC's with an AMD GPU in it at the moment otherwise I could tell you exactly where to look.

Apparently, it's normal. The fan does turn and it responds to whatever work is being done.

I've had the same issue with my RX 6500 XT. The fans usually stay off unless the temps hit a certain threshold, so it's totally normal for them not to spin when you're just browsing or doing light tasks. I ran a benchmark to stress the GPU, and that's when the fans started spinning up. If they still don’t turn on under load, maybe check for dust or make sure the fan cable is securely connected. Otherwise, it's probably just how the card’s designed to work.
