Straight to in-place upgrade or try to boot it?

I've just finished rebuilding a machine but the new mobo is not the same as the old one, so all the drivers are wrong. I'm wondering if there's any advantage to trying to boot it, or should I boot straight to the in-place upgrade?

I have the chipset, network, storage, vga and audio drivers on a USB. If it booted and I installed those drivers, would I still have to reactivate Wondows?

Chances are that you'll get a BSOD, but you can try booting it.

Probably, because you're changing the motherboard. It depends on the type of license you have also.
