Dongle into Computor
hi
Ive managed to get tv pics into the comp
with the dongle into usb socket and using the .... camera ... app
in windows.
getting a great video picture... but... no sound !
I ve got VLC up and using that Ive got sound in the past,
a week ago... but suddenly no sound.
I ve tried the settings in VLC... audio.... audio device
nothing seems to work....!
anything I can do ?

Post a link to the device that you are using, along with a detailed description of EXACTLY what you are trying to accomplish.
If you are still trying to connect a TV to your computer using some sort of USB to HDMI converter, if your converter does not also handle the audio, then you may need a different method to transfer that if you are wanting to use the TV speakers.
Also, was the audio actually working when you initially connected the TV using your new converter device? If yes, then there should just be a setting somewhere that can be changed. It would probably a Windows sound setting, and not a VLC setting.

I had the audio working about a week ago using vlc but cant get
audio right now. I ve tried changeing some settings in vlc and also in windows

Did that unit ship with a user manual or a link to a download for a manual?
Check Device Manager to see if it shows up there, and if it does, check for any settings for the device.
See if there is a tech support email or contact method for the device.

dont remem any manual, its basically plug in and play ...
as I say I did get audio by using VLC media player at same time as
having the tv channel up on m soft ... camer... app and I got a good
vid and audio recording . That was a week ago, now I just cant
get any sound out of it .

many thanks for the help and the links.... Im getting nowhere...
so frustrating... video on its own is not enough ..
I may have a try to do it with OBS studio ....
