Will the latest USB Wifi work with Win 7?

This is related to my quest for a network driver for a Dell M6600.

A couple of friends have bought USB Wifi thingys because their machines can't work with WPA encryption, which wasn't invented at the time
they bought their laptops. That's all very well if you have a recent OS but is there even a driver for win 7?

Mine didn't come with a driver, presumably because it will get downloaded when you plug in the USB. What will happen on Win 7?

Does the driver for win 10 work on 7? If 7 doesn't download it, how would I obtain it?

    Thanks - rev

Can you see the DELL "Service Tag" number on the machine and or let Dell's website scan for the Tag Number?

Then you should be able to find all of the drivers. There is probably more than one network driver but you could try and install all of them
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

Windows 10 drivers will not work on Windows 7, nor will Windows 7 drivers work on Windows 10 or 11. However, a USB WiFi Adapter should be detected by either version of Windows.
