New PC Build
The last machine I built was back in Feb 2016 and it is still rock solid and I use it to date.
I am building a new PC now and I have some questions and need some suggestions. My work involves programming and development. I do all of my development work on my Virtual Machines and try not to install too much software on the primary OS on the host machine. Some of the work I do involves some graphic design and I needs Photoshop and Illustrator installed on the primary desktop. To be able to run VMs I need a lot of memory. My current build has 32 GB RAM.
So enough with the background....
Here are the parts that I have come up with for the new build:
About the video card, I don't want to break the bank since I don't play any graphic intensive games. I am not into gaming whatsoever. The CPU I have selected does have integrated graphics but since I want to continue to have dual display, I do want a dedicated GPU. My current GPU on my 8 year old build is this:
EVGA Superclocked GeForce GT 740 2 GB Video Card
Can I continue using this in the new build? If not, I was thinking of getting this since its not too expensive.
XFX GTS XXX Radeon RX 580 8 GB Video Card
My question is, would it be a worth-it upgrade? I will consider other suggestions and I really appreciate it if you have read my lengthy post up until this point.
About the Power Supply, I have Thermaltake 700W smart series in my current build. I am also debating whether to replace it or not. Besides not being modular and poor cable management, no complaints.
Currently I have the following case and I need suggestions for a basic case with good airflow, cable management to compliment a good PS and has at least four 3.5" drive bays and 2 SSDs.
Corsair Carbide Series SPEC-02 Mid-Tower Gaming Case
Again, I REALLY apprecaite all the help.
Thanks,

The Radeon video card would be a worthwhile upgrade, assuming that you have better luck with Radeon cards than I have. ALL of the Radeon cards that I have used have eventually failed, usually taking out the motherboard as well.
A better option might be this, although it is a little more expensive:

The power supply should be OK, although a fully modular PSU might make it easier to route the cables.

A good case can be hard to find these days. Case makers assume that you don't need any drive bays these days.
Do you need to add any externally accessible (CD/DVD, etc.) drive bays?

I updated some of my parts based on the feedback I received. I would really appreciate a cursory look from the exports. Thanks!

I will stick with onboard graphics or GT 740 for now but may upgrade it in a few months

The processor is an Intel 12th Generation, so it is not affected by the heat degradation issue that the 13th and 14th generation CPUs have.

The case looks good as long as you do not need any external drive bays.
The other components look good. You may want to read the reviews for the motherboard, as they may have some useful information.

Can you shed some more light on your reference to external drive bays in relation to getting a computer case? I thought those are usually USB based. What does a Case need to be able to support external drive bays? thanks!

These days, case manufacturers assume that you are using 1 M.2 SSD for storage, and, since that mounts onto the motherboard, you do not need any internal or external 2.5 inch or 3.5 inch or 5 inch drive bays in your case.
However, if you actually want a second drive to store data that is not an expensive M.2 SSD, you may be using magnetic storage drives like these:

If you want to play music CDs or movie DVDs or BluRays, you may want one of these:

The case that I am planning to buy as listed in my pcpartpicker list supports up to 10 drives because of the number of bays it has. I could still add 10 more using the external drive bay so I am still a bit confused about your comment.

Your specified case has plenty of internal drive bays for 2.5 inch or 3.5 inch hard drives. However, it has no external drive bays, so if you wanted to add a CD/DVD drive where you need to insert a disc, or a memory card drive or a removable hard drive bay where you can insert a hard drive that would normally be mounted internally (for use with off-site backup, for example), it does not have that capability. If you never need any of these devices, then there is no problem.

Okay I understand now. The "external" here really means externally accessible plug'n play drive bay. Thanks!
