[RESOLVED] How To Convert WebP Image Files To Other Formats

This has become more and more of a problem for me.

Photoshop is my primary photo editing software but it won't open WebP Image files.

WebP Image files can be opened in MS Paint and converted to more user friendly formats like Jpeg or PNG but this requires opening and saving anew each file!

WebP Image files are now so common I save about 100+ new files each day. Is there a way to do a quick conversion for hundreds of files at once?

Or is there a way to get WebP Image files to open in Photoshop?

Google tells me that image viewer Irfanview can batch convert webp files to jpg.
It's free and a very good, reliable program that I've used in the past.

I have used Irfanview to convert WebP images, and it works well.

WOW! Worked like a charm!

Yes the plugin was needed otherwise there's an error message.

Once in the program go to "File" then "Batch Conversion." Then select and "add" the files to be converted.

In the upper left hand corner you select what file type the batch should be converted to. An important note! When selecting the file type a new window will appear asking for more details. There is a slider bar on the top which is almost invisible. Move the slider bar to the far right more max quality otherwise the new Jpeg file will be of a lesser quality.

I also tested this against the quality of converting via MS Paint and Irfanview is slighter better!
