Fonts in Windows 11
Windows 11 says I have 177 installed fonts but I can't seem to use them.
It will show me a preview but there is only an UNINSTALL button.
Tried downloading a few and dragging them over but that doesn't work either.
I can make what came with it bigger but I want to make the font bolder or at least darker.

What app are you using to try and see the fonts?
Have you tried NotePad?
You would click Format and then FONT.
Select any font and start typing....
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

Not trying to use an app. I am seeing all these fonts in settings. I'd like to choose a bolder font but can't.
I would like to change the font or text to bolder for everything.
I can make it bigger but that's not what I'm looking for.
Had a neat little program that would increase the size of the title bar, menus, etc and also make it bold.
Now they want cash for using it. Took it out thinking that was causing the problem but that didn't help.
Thank you.

Microsoft does not want you to do that, so the removed the option to make system fonts bold. You will probably need third-party software to do this now.
Possibly useful link:

Ok, that's what I thought.
That is the little program I had in and it worked great but now they want you to pay for it.
Still don't know why Microsoft shows all those fonts in settings if they aren't really available. I know, go to their store!

The fonts are available to use, since Windows is using them, you just cannot change anything on them. Also, the system fonts are not easily changeable without knowing out how to hack Windows or using a third-party software.
How much do they want for the software?

I believe it was $19.95 but I did use it for almost a year for free.
Still don't get why 177 fonts are listed but of no use? Tried word and they want a fee for that also.
I've had this laptop for almost a year now, just put off using it.

The fonts that you use for typing into Word should easily be changeable. The fonts that Microsoft uses for menu items and to display program messages would still be system fonts that you need assistance to change.
