    Phone so badly infected it's unusable

    It's an android phone and it has antivirus installed but the phone is so badly infected with gremlins that it's unusable.

    How can I fix it (what tools) from a laptop? I have MBAM free installed but I'll get whatever is necessary. Is there a Restore point or reset I can use?

    Thanks - rev

    None of the power/volume key presses worked for me. The menu containing the Reset option, never appeared but I was able to Reset as follows;

    Settings > System > Reset

    Now I have a new problem, the phone's owner doesn't remember the password for the google account so I wasn't able to complete the setup tasks.

    Is there any way of discovering the pw or do I need to get more software?

    We can't help you with passwords.... It's against the sites rules.

    SIDE NOTE: Do you want to switch to your old Reverend account? I sent you a couple of emails about how it got hijacked. I'd have to kill this new Blindman account to use it's email address.

    As Steve says we can't help with lost passwords but you or the person with the issue can ask Google about the problem directly to see if they can help:

    VirtualDr email notices are not working.
    Check back regularly for responses.
