    Microsoft Modern Authentication

Microsoft has advised us that as of September 2024, we will no longer be able to access our emails unless we convert over from Basic Authentication to Modern Authentication. I presently have a hotmail email account (Outlook) and when I try to find out what I am to do to get Modern Authentication, I am totally lost along with hundreds if not thousands of Microsoft clients. Microsoft forum is really useless unless you're a computer geek. Do I just delete my Hotmail account and set up a new Outlook email but does that resolve the authentication problem?

It's not the hotmail account itself that needs changing it's the client you use.. whether it's out of date and needs upgrading or the settings need to be adjusted.

I had to switch to Thunderbird email free to continue using my gmail accounts last year because my previous email client was not able to adapt without paying to upgrade to be able to use auth 2.0.

VirtualDr email notices are not working.
    Check back regularly for responses.

Don't delete your Hotmail account! To enable Modern Authentication, just sign in to your Microsoft Account, go to Account > Security > Advanced security options, and toggle Two-factor authentication to On. That's it!
