Scans not Straight
I've been using an Epson V500 for years now and never had this problem before -
I'm avoiding the top right corner by about a quarter of an inch - put 3 or 4 pictures on the plate very carefully lined up.
They turn out on a slant. Can't figure this out.
I'm using the "Home Mode" is that what's wrong? Thanks.

Why are you doing this?
Is that the amount the scans are off?
Is the glass on the scanner in the top right dirty and or cracked?
I wonder if the inside of the scanner is dirty and the light bar that goes back and forth is getting stuck for a fraction...
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

Does the scanner's test page also come out crooked?

The Epson site says to avoid the top right corner by .12 inch. There are little arrows to mark that.
Scanner is clean, nothing damaged.

Test page? This is a scanner, not a printer.

A document scans just fine.

Try not using Home Mode.
Also, try placing a blank 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper on top of the (back) of the items to be scanned. The scanner may detect that and straighten things out.

Not getting notifications on this.
Anyway, already tried the paper trick, didn't help any. Also tried index cards along the sides, came out just as crooked.
Three pictures down the center seems to work better.
Thanks.

Notifications are not currently working on this site.
If you try a copy instead of a scan, is it also crooked?
Is the device still under warranty?

A copy? Sorry, I don't understand.
Scanner is maybe 15 years old now but I've never had this problem with it before.

At 15 years old, there may be some worn drive parts for the scan mechanism. Finding replacements might be difficult.

Could be, but it does just great on a document and also good if the pictures are lined up with a small space in between them - 6 4x6's scan fine.
Just doesn't like a couple of pictures only.

It is possible that there is a setting buried somewhere in the software that can be changed to fix the issue. It couldn't hurt to do a through check of all possible settings that might affect the skewing.
