What am I looking for in a digital audio mobo?
I'm drooling on BuildmyPC.com and I've chosen the chip.
Intel? Core? I9-14900KF New Gaming Desktop Processor 24 Cores (8 P-cores + 16 E-cores) - Unlocked
Brand:Intel
Model:Core i9-14900KF
Speed:6 GHz
Cores:24
Socket Type:LGA 1700
Supporting mobos have quite a lot of difference in the prices so what are the key specs for digital audio?

When choosing a mother board I take into consideration these few key things:
Audio Quality, Expansion Slots, Input/Output Ports, Networking, Brand Reputation;
You can tailor each spec to your needs, depending on how heavy-duty you'll go on this system

That depends upon what your intended usage and connecting audio gear is. More info is needed to make a qualified recommendation. I've done professional audio for decades and still do production work for two record companies.
Personally, I still prefer stand-alone audio cards to integrated audio.

Thanks to all for the input. I use a top of the line MOTU interface and the Kemper Guitar Profiler Rack version so I don't care about integrated audio. This will be the third machine I've built, the previous two were Asus ROG STRIX boards but I'm beginning to wonder how good they are, the last one only lasted 3 years. I've also been doing it for decades and I'm a pretty intense user, maybe 10 hours a day.
I also have heat dust and moisture in the environment because I live in the Mexican desert. I didn't get water cooling last time because i was told you could hear the pump running but I might get it this time.

Check he NewEgg reviews for any motherboard that you are considering using.
Also, with high heat, dust, and humidity, and with your problematic electrical power utility, additional preventive maintenance would be helpful in prolonging the life of electronic equipment. Making sure that all equipment is plugged into a UPS with surge suppression would also be a good idea.
