    Rattling speaker

    What ho one and all,

My wife uses an HP Pavilion 23 ''All In One'' computer. She like listening to various famous pianists and watching the associated videos. Recently the sound has become very 'rattly.'

I have removed the back and checked for anything loose, taped a few things that did rattle when tapped, gently blew some air into the speaker box but to no avail.

Any ideas on what else I could check? Or doe it indicate that the speakers have given up the ghost?

    Thanks and toodle pip

If headphones are clear sounding then it's a speaker issue. If headphones (or separate plug-in speakers) also distort then it's a software/setup issue.

Thanks for your reply. Have to admit that I did not think about testing with headphones. And on that theme, I do have a spare pair of speakers from her previous computer, that needed plug-in. Will give that a try.

As an All-In-One, the sockets are annoyingly only accessible from the back.

Plugged in a Dell desktop speaker to the USB and speaker socket; all working fine with no rattle. Happy wife!!!

    Thanks for the suggestion.
