Text To Speech Programs, Multiple Voices

Unfortunately for the past 20 years I've failed to find any decent text to voice programs.

I began investigating this again as I'm trying to create a "motion comic book" video which will require multiple voice types, one for each character.

Thus far in my search everyone recommends Adobe Audition. A program I didn't even know I already owned.

Adobe Audition does indeed have a text to speech function. However there is only one male and one female voice. The only suggestion to add new voices was to install new "language" setting to Windows 10 and it would transfer over into Adobe Audition. It didn't!

The actual voice options from Windows 10 were very disappointing as you can only choose different accents within the English language and the text to speech results were VERY robotic! I can't tell any difference from Windows 10 and Windows 97 voices!

The Adobe Audition website did recommend two other websites for more voice. One no longer exists! The second offered previews of only four voices and they were just as bad as the previous ones. I found no distinction between the voice actors. It was clearly just the same voice actor having the speed and pitch of their voices altered to make them appear younger or older or have a different accent.

I must conclude Adobe Audition isn't the right program for text to speech. Can anyone recommend any really good ones? I'm fine with paying for any program if it's good.

    Thanks.

Please don't all respond at once.

I've received recommendations for Speechify.com which seem to be exactly what I'm looking for. Interestingly it's an online app rather than a program. It's not cheap. If anyone has an advice about Speechify positive or negative please let me know.

I'm still very open to other programs.

It isn't the kind of program that many people would use. Chances of the regular helpers here having done so are pretty low. Speech to text would get some ideas but the other way round not so much. Perhaps finding a forum that caters to multimedia production would be advised.

Found this one on google in a few seconds:

VirtualDr email notices are not working.
    Check back regularly for responses.

I'm not sure if you've tried www.audiomodify.com yet, but this voice tool is crazy fun! I jumped on just to try it out and ended up making AI covers with voices like SpongeBob and Eminem—and even made one using my own voice. Just upload a link, tweak a few settings, and boom...instant remix. You get multiple versions and its easy to share. I've found it fun just to play around with, but you can totally use it for more serious projects.
