    Trying to install winxp

    If I can get my laptop to see and install winxp from cd rom then after install I have win11 on a usb to install.,
    The pc had a bad hard drive i found another HD and all I want to do is format the drive and install windows.
    It sees the hd but won’t see the cd rom. Any help?

    Did the CD/DVD drive work before the hard drive failure?

    Have you set the BIOS to boot from the CD/DVD drive?

    How old is the laptop?

    What make and model is the laptop?

    Is it using a SATA hard drive?
