Resolved [RESOLVED] Downloading app from internet to Samsung tv

A friend referred me to a sports app for viewing football games. The app is not available through Google Play Store.

So I went online to see how to download it to my Sony Android television. It said I should first download APKMirror Installer from the Google Play Store, but that app does not appear under the "Tools" list. Several other things which look like they might be the same sort of thing do appear, but information on them is not readily available. Even if I could get the desired installer app, the directions provided online for using it are really confusing.

Long story short, is there any reasonably simple method to download from the internet and install on my Sony Android television?

Odds are there is a monthly Membership Fee to watch the games.

Have you looked at all Streaming Sports services?

The Sony is a Bravia model 55X800E, 49X800E or 43X800E. Instructions cover all three model numbers, and I cannot find the model number on the TV itself.

    App link is 247tvstream.com

Yeah, I checked all the streaming services. Limited access and/or sky high fees. This service is $80 for a full year.

One of those links says to put the "apk" on a use drive, pull it up on the Sony menu, click "install" and you're done.
Another says to use Sony's "ESFile Explorer," then go to "Security" and give the new file permission, then Download and install a "Sideload Installer" and then download and install a "Sideoad Orientation" app.

Not to mention that the 247tvstream site says it has an app, but apparently one has to subscribe before one can get the app. What happens if one subscribes and then is unable to install the app. They have a chat, but you have to give them your email before you can chat with them, and I'm leery about handing out my email.

I'm kind of giving up on being able to watch the KC Chiefs.

Have you tried any of the methods of installing the APKMirror software? We do not have access to a Sony Bravia, so we cannot test any of the methods for you.

As for an email correspondence with 247tvstream, I would set up a throwaway email address for that purpose. There are a number of ways to do this.

You could also try adblink (or adblink2). You can push apks from your computer to the TV (or other Android device).
    http://jocala.com/adblink.html

Note that you'll need to enable "Allow USB debugging" on the TV.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sj_KxMnj6tw

    Install and run adblink
Enter the TV's IP in the Ad Hoc IP field
    Click Connect
*If prompted on the TV, click OK to Allow USB debugging, then click Connect again
    Click Install APK
Browse to ***.apk and click Open
    Click Yes to Install APKs
    Click OK

Sometimes I overthink things. I don't want to start a process unless I understand each step of the process all the way to completion. Such thinking gets in my way.

Sure enough I was trying to comprehend steps that I would not, in fact, ever have to use. I feel like an idiot. I subscribed to the service and installed the app from their system with only a little bit of difficulty by following their instructions, which became available after I signed up.

I did, however, learn some useful things by following the links you folks provided, so your time was not wasted. Thanks for your input.
