    Keyboard NOT Working

The keyboard on my HP Laptop is not working
When i restart the Laptop it does allow me to type in my password so that I can login. But I cant use the keyboard to type in anything in Mail, MS Office, or search on Edge. I am running Windows 10 with the latest updates.
    Please help.

I am posting this thread from another PC.

Does the keyboard work in any program or application or window? How about in Notepad?

    Does the on-screen keyboard work?

Are there any errors showing in Device Manager?

If you have another USB keyboard, what happens if you plug that into the laptop? Does it work?

I activated the on screen keyboard. and it worked. I then tried the laptop keyboard and it aldo worked. I then unactivated the on screen keyboard and the laotop keyboard continued to work.

You are not the only one. If you then reboot, does the laptop keyboard still have issue without again activating the on-screen keyboard?

Try Notepad. It only takes a few clicks. Start, Windows Accessories, Noteppad.

Try another USB keyboard if you have one.

That is good news (and bad news). At least it is now working, however, we still have no idea why it stopped working. If you are lucky, the issue will not reappear.
