Those are Display port jacks, basically a newer version of HDMI.

You could either get a display port to hdmi cable or it might be cheaper to get a smaller adapter like this if you already have a HDMI to HDMI cable that's long enough....

many thanks for that info ... was the display port a fore runner of hdmi ?

my comp though bought only 2 years ago, must be a lot older model not to have hdmi ports I m thinking

It does have that blue socket where you have a screw each side that secures it..... I have a television
a diff television that allows me to connect with those blue socket connectors...... I suppose
there must be a cable that will have the blue socket one end and hdmi the other ?

Display Port is the newer replacement for the older HDMI.

The blue jack is a VGA video input. it's lower quality and a much older type system. You'd also need to patch audio separately so it would not be the way to go.

The best way to patch your computer is using its Display Port output to the TV's HDMI input using an adapter like I linked to above or a full length adapter cable like this one.....

yes, I realise now hdmi is not the latest connection.... hdmi and the display socket are both happening
at the same time... display probably moving data faster so very popular with gamers.

Ive taken your advice and ordered the ...... display socket to hdmi ....... adaptor which I should get in the post very soon

    thanks for help
